What does it take to be the best Canada goose management experts? The best dog handlers?
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from all of us here at Ohio Geese Control
Our Geese Management Experts taking first place at our Dog Olympics 2025
When working with us, you have the peace of mind in knowing that we are reputable, highly-trained professionals you can rely on to design a custom geese management program guaranteed to deliver results in a timely and professional manner. Our specialists are well educated and courteous. Just watch them work at your site, and you will be happy with what you see… and the results.
We have over 100 trained and certified employees located throughout Ohio. They will go the extra mile to ensure our clients are happy and can enjoy the outdoors again… geese and gull free. They also interact with the community and represent our values by giving back to the cities we live and work within.
What does Certification mean?
Geese Chaser Sue and her dog, Cap
This certification allows them to work as nuisance wildlife professionals in the State of Ohio for three years, and then they will have to renew their certification. This ensures our co-workers understand relevant information regarding laws, legal methods of control operations, general species information, ethical considerations and wildlife diseases.
Additional Training Opportunities
It takes a lot of dedication to become one of our dog handlers or bird migration experts. Our training program includes in house training and expert, targeted, external training sessions.
“I really enjoyed the training and shadowing experience, and have learned so much.”
Internally, we have a Mentor Program that is fine-tuned each year. Our mentors are specifically trained to teach our processes, methodology and culture to new employees. This allows new employees to transition easily into our pack. All employees feel confident they can do the job from their first day working alone. This also ensures they know how to interact with the dog, the public and understand safety concerns of every situation.
“My mentor, Barb, is one of the best trainers! She gave me the confidence to do a great job.”

We also participate in many seminars and training provided by numerous organizations including the National Safety Council, National Wildlife Control Operators Association, and Leadership Conferences. Our commitment to a well-rounded certified goose management professional shows in all of the opportunities that we provide our co-workers.
How do we know we are doing a great job at training? Our employees tell us!
“I know more about geese now, than I ever thought I would!”
